INVESTMENT OFFICER
Carl is an Investment Officer at Colchester Global Investors and has been with the firm since July 2017. Carl manages portfolios, monitors risk on a daily basis and conducts fundamental economic research. Prior to joining Colchester, he was an Investment Manager at Pictet Asset Management in the Emerging Market Debt team managing both Hard and Local currency debt products. He joined Pictet in 2007, initially as an RFP writer, before joining the Emerging Market Debt team as an analyst in 2010. He started his career in 2005 for a private wealth management firm providing fund research to a team of financial advisors. Carl graduated with a BA in Music and French from the University of Queensland, Australia and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Kathryn has many years’ investment experience in fixed-income portfolio management and research. A graduate in mathematics, Kathryn began her investment career in 1983 at Manufacturer’s Life. From 1983 to 1999 Kathryn was employed in a number of portfolio management and research capacities at Hill Samuel (latterly within its subsidiary IAI Inter- national). Kathryn has had extensive experience in global bond management since the early days of the market’s modern development.

Keith began his career in 1983 as an international macro-monetary economist and investment manager. His work experience includes seven years with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as an economist where he served on its policy-making committee, followed by eight years at the World Bank. Keith spent a number of successful years in the World Bank’s Investment Department managing global real and leveraged money as a lead fixed income portfolio manager, senior investment strategist and proprietary trader. Keith has authored several exchange and interest rate papers.

Ian has enjoyed a highly successful career, beginning in 1980, in the field of global fixed income and currency investment management. His work experience includes fixed income portfolio management at the Royal Bank of Canada and Hill Samuel Investment Advisors. He became a founder and director of Delaware International Advisers, Ltd., where he worked for nearly 10 years. At the time of his departure he was Chief Investment Officer-Global Fixed Income. Ian has a strong academic background with graduate and post-graduate degrees in mathematics, economics and statistics, and has authored a widely read publication on the use of real yields in global bond management.

Mark is an Investment Officer at Colchester Global Investors and has been with the firm since June 2016. Mark started his career in 1998 and has managed bonds and currencies since 2000. Prior to joining Colchester, Mark was an Emerging Market Bond and Currency Investment Manager at Fischer, Francis, Trees & Watts (FFTW), starting in 2012. Before FFTW, Mark was a Fund Manager at Rexiter Capital Management, a subsidiary of State Street Global Advisors (SSgA). While there he was responsible for the analysis and management of Asian fixed income and currency investments for Rexiter’s emerging markets fixed income products. He joined Rexiter in November 2006 from SSgA where he worked as an Investment Manager in SSgA’s Global Fixed Income group, focusing on ‘developed world economies,’ most notably those in the dollar bloc. In 2003 and 2004 Mark worked in Singapore and assisted in building the first local currency denominated Asian bond fund. Mark earned a BA (Hons) in Financial Services from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Martyn Simpson

Martyn is an Investment Officer with Colchester Global Investors and has been with the firm since April 2015. Martyn manages portfolios, monitors risk on a daily basis and conducts fundamental economic research. He began his career in 1999 at Baring Asset Management in London where he was a member of the global fixed income team. From there he moved to Rand Merchant Bank in 2004 to manage offshore bond exposures for the company. In 2009 he joined Mercer where he evaluated fixed income managers across a range of strategies, initially in London but then transferring to Singapore in 2012. Martyn graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Politics and East Asian Studies. He then received a full scholarship from SOAS where he completed an MA in Korean Studies. Martyn was a member of the Territorial Army in the UK and served in Iraq. He is a CFA charterholder.

Cian is a Senior Investment Officer at Colchester Global Investors and has been with the firm since 2013. Cian manages both developed and emerging market bond portfolios and conducts sovereign balance sheet research at the firm. He began his career in 2002 with the Central Bank of Ireland before moving into asset management with Bank of Ireland Asset Management. In 2011 he joined State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) in London where he was a senior portfolio manager on the active global fixed income team. Cian graduated from University College Cork with a degree in Commerce and German, before obtaining a Masters in Investment and Treasury from Dublin City University. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of the UK.

Claudia is Managing Director of Colchester’s Singapore office and a Senior Investment Officer. Claudia has been with the firm since 2009. She manages global and emerging bond portfolios and conducts ongoing fundamental economic and ESG research. Claudia started her career in 1999, as an analyst at UBS Realty Investors followed by Western Asset Management as a portfolio manager and has extensive experience in portfolio management and risk analysis. Claudia holds a Diploma in Business Studies from Fachhochschule Regensburg, Germany and an MA in Economics from the University of Connecticut. She is a CFA charterholder, a member of the PRI Fixed Income Advisory Committee and chairs the PRI Sovereign Working Group.

Paul is the Senior Executive Officer of Colchester Global Investors Middle East Limited and Global Head of Marketing and Client Services having joined the firm in September 2010. Paul is also an Executive Director and Overseas Representative of Colchester Global Investors (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. Paul manages the Marketing and Client Services team, directs marketing and new business development and maintains key client and consultant relationships. He has a background as a Product Specialist, having previously worked at PIMCO as a Product Manager for Sterling Government and Credit and at Fidelity Investments as a Fund Analyst covering global portfolio strategies and global equities. Prior to joining Colchester, he was Head of Structured Products and Deputy Manager of Product Advisory at PAM Global Investments. Paul has a MA (Hons) in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.

GLOBAL HEAD OF LEGAL & COMPLIANCE
Michele is Global Head of Legal and Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer for Colchester Global Investors and is responsible for the management of the firm’s global legal and compliance resources and the oversight of the procedural, legal and regulatory compliance of the firm. Michele was appointed to the role in July 2014 having been a senior member of Colchester’s compliance team since 2012. Prior to joining Colchester, Michele practised as a capital markets lawyer and later a funds and regulatory lawyer during which time she also acted for the firm. Michele sits as an executive director on the Board of Colchester Global Investors Limited alongside Ian Sims and Keith Lloyd. Michele qualified as a lawyer in the UK in 1994 and has a law degree (LLB) from University College London.
